Not sure if you saw this terrible news, but it is relevant to our work/initiative... If you aren't aware of them, the Stanford Internet Observatory team produced some terrific work on online misinformation that bridged the academic, public, and policy spheres. I understand misinformation researchers at the University of Washington were also caught up in this harassing, McCarthy-esque investigation.
