<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">UCR HPCC will be performing a maintenance shutdown at the above specified time. This shutdown is necessary for routine software updates, and certain configuration changes that can not be done while the cluster is active.</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:26px;margin:16px 0;font-weight:700;color:#0b4c91">Benefits</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">Regular cluster maintenance keeps our systems performant, secure, and reliable.</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:26px;margin:16px 0;font-weight:700;color:#0b4c91">Slurm "ReqNodeNotAvail"</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">A Slurm reservation block has been set to prevent jobs from running during maintenance. If your job is stuck in the queue with the reason "ReqNodeNotAvail", you may resubmit your job with a shorter duration, or let the job wait in the queue until the shutdown concludes.</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">Users should also ensure that all of their cluster work is saved, and we recommend logging off all HPCC sessions before the shutdown.</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:26px;margin:16px 0;font-weight:700;color:#0b4c91">Services Impacted</p>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">Most services hosted by HPCC will be down during this period. This includes, but is not limited to:</p>
<ul style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">
<li style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">Cluster access (SSH, Slurm, data access), including HTTP access to user data.</li>
<li style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">All services provided by OnDemand: RStudio/Posit, MATLAB, Jupyter, etc.</li>
</ul>
<p style="font-size:14px;line-height:22px;margin:16px 0;color:#3c4043">Normal email support (<a href="mailto:support@hpcc.ucr.edu" target="_blank">support@hpcc.ucr.edu</a>) will continue to operate. However, HPCC's Slack workspace (<a href="https://ucr-hpcc.slack.com" target="_blank">https://ucr-hpcc.slack.com</a>) will be the main means of group communication with users during maintenance events. We strongly encourage users to become familiar with our Slack workspace ahead of the shutdown.</p>
