***THIS MESSAGE IS FOR ALL CONTINUING PHD STUDENTS***
Hello PHD Students,
Happy Friday! Right now, I am working to clear up student files and have
been running into issues especially with grad division. Here are some
things I need you all to do in order to not hold you up as you work to
advance to candidacy.
1. *Make sure you complete your ARPE* *at the end of each year with your
committee*. If you have not already done so, complete this task now.
Again, this process has now been moved to R'Grad and changed name to the
AME.
2. Send me a copy of your research proposal or message to your committee
members sharing your research proposal. Once I receive this, I can remove
it from your degree audits.
3. Once you complete your written examination, you must submit your
results via R'Grad. If you do not record this in R'grad it will cause
issues when you move to your next items.
4. You must submit your nomination of Oral Qualifying Exam Committee in
R'Grad and have it approved before taking your Oral Qualifying examination.
You must complete this form, preferably one month before taking your exam,
but at minimum 2 weeks prior. If you need to make an adjustment to your
committee it also must be submitted and approved at least 2 weeks prior to
your Qualifying Exam. *You are not able to conduct the exam unless this
is first approved, or your exam will be voided, and you will need to retake
the examination.*
5. Once all the previous conditions are met, you can take your
examination. If you have passed, then you must submit your results in
R'Grad within 48 hours.
*Also, for those of you who plan to graduate at the end of this quarter**,*
please also make sure you read and understand these dissertation/thesis
submission timelines
<https://graduate.ucr.edu/dissertation-and-thesis-submission> and
these graduation
deadlines <https://graduate.ucr.edu/graduation-procedures>.
Lastly, make sure to complete your Dissertation Announcement
<https://ucrbsgsac.wufoo.com/forms/r1jr51kz0iygt89/> form. All PhD students
must have a mandatory public defense as part of completing their PhD.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Please make sure you follow these instructions as the Grad Division is
getting increasingly stricter with following their guidelines, and it will
result in a hold on your accounts or repeating your examinations.
Sincerely,
Chris
