
<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><p class="isSelectedEnd">Dear Colleagues,</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Please join us for a special seminar this <strong>Wednesday at 11:00 AM</strong>.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>From Salt Stress Signaling to Halophyte Adaptation: Molecular Mechanisms of Sodium Homeostasis in Plants</strong></p><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Speaker:</strong> Dae-Jin Yun<br>Professor, Global Plant Stress Research Center & School of Advanced Biotechnology<br>Konkuk University, Korea</p><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Time:</strong> Wednesday, June 8, 2026, 11:00 AM<br><strong>Location:</strong> Genomics Auditorium</p><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Soil salinity is a major constraint on plant growth and crop productivity. In this seminar, Professor Yun will discuss recent advances in understanding how plants maintain sodium homeostasis through the regulation of Na⁺ transport and stress signaling pathways. His work has uncovered a central role for the calcium sensor SOS3 in coordinating the activities of the Na⁺ transporters SOS1 and HKT1;1, thereby enhancing salt tolerance. He will also present comparative studies of halophytes that reveal unique evolutionary adaptations to extreme salinity and highlight new strategies for improving crop resilience.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Professor Yun is an internationally recognized leader in plant abiotic stress biology. He is Director of the Global Plant Stress Research Center at Konkuk University and has authored more than 270 peer-reviewed publications, including papers in <em>Cell</em>, <em>Nature Genetics</em>, <em>Molecular Cell</em>, <em>Nature Plants</em>, <em>Nature Communications</em>, <em>PNAS</em>, <em>The Plant Cell</em>, and <em>Molecular Plant</em>. He is a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology and has received numerous national and international awards for his research.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">We hope you can join us for what promises to be an exciting seminar.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Best,</p><p>Meng</p><div>
