Dear Colleagues,

The Biology Department at Washington University is conducting a search to fill two tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Genetics & Genomics at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. We are interested in candidates who employ innovative
genetics/genomics approaches to investigate fundamental questions in either plant biology or evolutionary biology, but all exceptionally qualified individuals are invited to apply. Qualifications required include a Ph.D. degree in an appropriate area, a strong
commitment to developing an externally funded, internationally recognized research program, and a desire to contribute significantly to both the undergraduate and graduate curricula through teaching and mentorship. Associate-level candidates must have an
active research agenda and a commitment to excellent teaching, as well as an outstanding publication record commensurate with tenure at that rank.

The successful candidate will join a growing initiative to enhance research and teaching in genetics and genomics. We seek candidates who will provide strengths complementary to those already present in the Biology Department and in
the broader life sciences community at Washington University and the greater St. Louis area. Extensive opportunities for interactions and interdisciplinary collaboration are available within the biology community.

We would greatly appreciate your help in identifying candidates for this position. Please encourage outstanding colleagues to apply. They may contact any member of the search committee (listed below) with specific questions. The advertisement
that appeared on the career website of Science is attached to this letter and applicants can apply at
