<p class="MsoNormal"><u><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:black">1: Sequencing core<o:p></o:p></span></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:black">IIGB sequencing core just signed an agreement with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to provide them with much needed sequencing services at cost. This
is the first step in establishing our relationship with the state, and we are happy to be able to contribute to UCR’s community support efforts. This process was mainly driven by

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:black">Agreements for moving of the core to MRB1 are completed. However, due to the delay(s) in Batchlor Hall renovation the dates of the move are uncertain. I will keep

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:black">FYI, I will be on sabbatical from Sept 25<sup>th</sup>-June 30<sup>th</sup> 2022. I am hoping to bring back with me newly found knowledge of metabolomic imaging for
our future endeavors.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:black">Meanwhile my esteemed colleague Xuemei Chan has graciously agreed to be the interim Director. We have the approval of the dean, and as such the transfer will proceed
according to the rules of UCR.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif;color:black">I cannot express how elated I am to have Xuemei as the interim director, as she is amongst the most established and recognized scientists who talks the talk and walks
