** Fellow Highlights

This month, we highlight three of our fellows who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments in the last few weeks.

We are proud to announce Plants3D Fellow Claire Whitaker’s (https://ucr.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3b3cee074afadeee01d0676d9&id=cb4ec05a04&e=0bc15b079f) success in winning the Gradslam Public Speaking Competition here at UC Riverside!

Claire will be receiving a $5,000 cash prize and traveling to Oakland, CA to compete with the champions from other UC schools.

Isaac Diaz (https://ucr.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3b3cee074afadeee01d0676d9&id=1cf81f41ab&e=0bc15b079f) , a Plants3D Fellow, has landed the first internship in our program! Isaac will be interning with the Data Science and Genomics team at Pairwise.

He will be contributing to the company's goal of using genome-editing to produce fruits and vegetables that are more desirable to consumers.

Plants3D Fellow Nick Robertson (https://ucr.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3b3cee074afadeee01d0676d9&id=3435fceff8&e=0bc15b079f) also made it to the final round of the GradSlam Competition. Nick runs his own youtube channel (https://ucr.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3b3cee074afadeee01d0676d9&id=0fb30606b6&e=0bc15b079f) where he uses science communication skills to talk about bioengineering experiments.

One of his latest videos focuses on a Plants3D-Sponsored Cinnamon Project (https://ucr.us20.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3b3cee074afadeee01d0676d9&id=786ec3c2f7&e=0bc15b079f) .
