[IIGB_All] Seminar Reminder: CEPCEB Noel Keen Lecture and Awards Event - December 10

Dear Colleagues and Friends in the CEPCEB and IIGB community,

CEPCEB is pleased to invite you to the 19th Annual Awards Ceremony and Distinguished Noel Keen Lecture on Friday, December 10, 2021, which will also include new donor recognition and an evening reception. The event will start at 3:00pm with registration and refreshments in the Genomics lobby; please see below for the complete schedule.

The following prestigious awards will be presented during the Awards Presentation:
* 2021 CEPCEB Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow Research Award
* 2021 Bailey Farms Graduate Student Research Award
* 2021 Neil Campbell CEPCEB Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award
* 2021 Natasha V. Raikhel Award for Research Innovation and Science Leadership
 Note: Nominations are to be sent to Dominica Albitre (dominica.albitre at ucr.edu<mailto:dominica.albitre at ucr.edu>) by December 6, 2020.

Our 2021 Distinguished Noel T. Keen Lecturer will be Professor Krishna Niyogi, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, a Professor of Plant and Microbial Biology at University of California, Berkeley, and a faculty scientist in the Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.   The Niyogi lab studies photosynthetic energy conversion and its regulation in algae and plants.  He will be giving a talk titled “Understanding and altering photoprotection to improve crop productivity“.

We hope that this event will expose members of CEPCEB and the broader UCR community to exciting translational plant science research.
