[iberoamericanmusiclist] Staying connected: IAMSG mailing list and AMS Community site

Dear colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well.

Until now, communications within our Ibero-American Music Study Group have
taken place mainly through our mailing list, kindly coordinated and hosted
by our colleague Rogério Budasz on the University of California, Riverside
server. This list has been —and continues to be— an essential tool for
keeping our community connected, and we are very grateful for Rogério’s
long-standing support in maintaining it.

At the same time, we would like to encourage members of the group to also
join the IAMSG space on the AMS Community site, which offers an internal
messaging system and additional tools for communication and engagement
within AMS. At present, only 32 members of the IAMSG are registered on the
Community site, so we believe that increasing participation there would
greatly strengthen our group’s visibility and connectivity within the
Society.

Our intention is not to replace the mailing list immediately, but rather to
complement it by making fuller use of the AMS Community platform and its
advantages, especially as AMS continues to develop and prioritize this
space for Study Group communication.

How to join the IAMSG on the AMS Community site:

1. Go to the AMS Community website: https://community.amsmusicology.org
2. Log in using your AMS member credentials.
3. Click on “Groups” in the main menu.
4. Search for Ibero-American Music Study Group.
5. Click on “+ Join Group”.

Once you have joined, you will be able to receive messages through the
Community system and participate more fully in group discussions and
announcements.

Thank you very much for your time and for helping us keep the IAMSG well
connected. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or
encounter any difficulties during the process.
