The School of Music at California State University, Fullerton, invites
applications for a tenureฉ\track position as Assistant or Associate
Professor of Musicology with appointment to begin Fall 2023.
*Position *The School of Music invites applications for a tenureฉ\track
position as Assistant or Associate Professor of Musicology. Preference will
be given to applicants with teaching and research experience in Latin
American popular, traditional, and art musics; and world music. Experience
in teaching art music survey courses of various historical periods to music
majors is required. Applicants must effectively use current technologies in
teaching and be conversant with emerging musicological research and
teaching methods. We seek applicants who can help the School of Music
update its general education offerings; who study and/or teach Latin
American musics; who have experience with diverse traditions, such as music
of African American and/or African diasporic, or Asian American
communities; and who are interested in and/or experienced with teaching
large general education music courses and in online instruction.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate music history survey
courses; graduate musicology seminars; general education music classes,
such as Latin American music and popular music; and other academic music
classes to be determined. The successful candidate will have an established
record of college- or university-level teaching, and peer-reviewed
publication; will supervise undergraduate and graduate musicology theses;
and will share in departmental responsibilities, including student
advisement and service on committees. Applicants must have a strong
commitment to excellence in teaching, peer-reviewed research, and
professional and university service.

*Required Qualifications*
- Ph.D. in musicology
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness, including use of technology
- Successful prior college- or university-level teaching experience
- Experience in teaching art music survey courses of various historical
periods to music majors
- Research and peer-reviewed publication experience indicative of strong
potential for tenure
- Ability to interact effectively with students and faculty in a culturally
diverse university community
