> Following the success of last year’s Ibero-American Music Study Group (IAMSG) Lightning Lounge, we are excited to issue a new call for presentations for the “Lightning Lounge: Current Topics in Ibero-American Music Research” session in Minneapolis AMS/SMT 2020. The session will consist of five presentations of seven minutes each followed by an extended time for Q&A, in a low-key, friendly and collegial environment.

Moreover, the casual setting (sitting around in tables) fosters more in-depth exchange of ideas, projects, and collaborations. The seven-minute slot for research presentations on topics related to the Americas, the Iberian Peninsula, or the Caribbean might be particularly attractive for those whose projects are still in early stages and who might benefit from the feedback.

> If you are interested in being one of the presenters, please submit a Word document with a title and short abstract (150-200 words), institutional affiliation (if applicable), and tech requirements to herreraeduardo [at] gmail.com no later than March 6. The subject of the email should be “[LastName] IAMSG Proposal.” Proposals can be in English, Portuguese and Spanish. The program committee will consist of past chair, Ana Alonso Minutti, current chair, Eduardo Herrera, and incoming chair, Ana Sánchez-Rojo,
