Hi IAWP TC’s,

It’s finally happening! The Inland Area Writing Project’s first quarterly virtual newsletter is in the works and expected to hit your email sometime in June 2021. But first we need something from you . . . SUBMISSIONS! Our submissions deadline is Friday, May 7th. Here’s what we’re looking for:

Member News (100 word limit)

Let us celebrate your news! Tell us about your new job, engagement or wedding, the addition of new family members, or publications. Give us all the juicy details in 100 words or less.

Recommendations (100 word limit)

Everyone has a favorite mentor text, TV show, movie, documentary, product, blog or podcast. Share that love with your fellow TC’s. Write a short description and review and tell us who might appreciate this info. Don’t forget to send us the website or buy links.

Writing Tips (250 word limit)

Every writing teacher has a virtual toolbox crammed full of fabulous lesson ideas and invaluable writing advice to share with fellow teachers. It’s time to spill your guts and share a secret or two. We’re all ears!

Presenter Tips (250 word limit)

Help your fellow TC’s grow as presenters by sharing your favorite presenter tips and tricks. What are your must-dos or must-haves? How do you calm your nerves before you step in front of an audience? Any platform recommendations for creating stunning presentations or memorable handouts?

Writing from the TC Desk (1,000 word limit)

Polish up that piece of writing you’ve been tinkering with and share it with your IAWP family. Short stories, poems, or essays up to 1,000 words will be accepted.

Call for Presenters or Submissions (100 word limit)

Do you know of a conference looking for presenters? Or maybe you caught wind of a magazine or publisher looking for submissions. If so, forward the link, blurb, and flyer to us so we can share the info with the rest of the TC’s.

I’ll bet you’re as excited about the newsletter as we are. To submit, click this link: https://forms.gle/F4VvUa3td6igtFgx9 and complete the form before Friday, May 7th, 2021.
