Management Skills Assessment Program – Call for Applications for 2023

UC Management Skills Assessment Program
The Management Skills Assessment Program (MSAP) is designed to assess the management skills of current UC supervisors and managers. Participants demonstrate management skills in simulations and activities that mirror typical management scenarios.

Program Goals
The program has been designed to:

  * Promote and support diversity within the UC System
  * Provide networking opportunities with colleagues across the UC System
  * Facilitate development through the creation of a focused Development Plan
  * Provide the opportunity to identify leadership strengths and development areas

Program Components
MSAP brings together UC employees from 12 campuses and locations for a unique assessment center experience at the UCLA Lodge Conference Center in Lake Arrowhead, CA. Participants are paired with an assessor who provides them with feedback as they complete the program activities. At the end of the program, participants receive a summary of feedback on their strengths and development areas, and they begin their development plan. They are encouraged to share both with their managers when they return to work.

Sessions
Two sessions are available in 2023: April 10-13, and October 9-12.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility requirements for UC Riverside candidates:

  * Minimum of one year of service at any UC location
  * Designation as a non-probationary career status employee
  * Current designation as a supervisor
  *   Administrative Officer III (or equivalent) or above or;

Application Process and Deadline
Applications must be submitted online at https://msap.ucr.edu/application.html. Both the applicant and their supervisor must complete their respective application components for consideration. The deadline for the Spring Program (April 10-13) is Friday, January 13, 2023.
