ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENTS!!
The Academic Senate invites students to participate as appointed representatives on some of its standing committees. In 1982, the Advisory Committee considered the request that student member representatives on Academic Senate committees be permitted formal recognition of their opinions concerning matters brought before such committees, and extended to the student representatives the privilege of having their position recorded. Universitywide Bylaw 35.C.2 stipulates that only Academic Senate members are authorized to vote on actions in which the committee is acting for the Senate; therefore, student positions are recorded and maintained separately from the formal vote of these committees. We invite your participation again during the current academic year.
For each of the standing committees listed below, only one GSA student representative may be appointed with the exception of Graduate Council, which has two GSA representatives. The method of their selection is up to you. Any one student should serve on only one committee so that the workload is not excessive.
Senate Committees begin service and meetings on September 1 of each academic year so please submit your interest to Henry Huang, GSA President as soon as possible.
If you are unclear about the function of any of the committees listed below, please consult Bylaws of the Riverside Division of the Academic Senate (http://senate.ucr.edu<http://../../Academic%20Senate%20Issues/SEPTEMBER%20LETTERS/10-11%20SEPTEMBER%20LETTERS/senate.ucr.edu>/), or contact the Academic Senate Office.
