Hi All,

 The Student Regents (Jesse and Alfredo) would like you to pass this
message along to any and every UC Student you know!

 Apply to be the next UC Student Regent!

Deadline for Applications: Feb 17th, 2011 5pm, at YOUR chancellor’s office!

 The Student Regent is a full voting member of the Board of Regents of
the University of California, attending all meetings of the Board and
its Committees and serving a one year term commencing July 1. From the
time of appointment as a student Regent in July 2011, but prior to the
commencement of service as a member of the Board in July 2012, the
appointee holds the title “Regent-designate” and is invited to
participate in all meetings of the Board and of its Committees, but
without a vote.


In a huge victory for UC students, California voters amended the State
Constitution in November 1974 to provide The Regents of the University
of California with the option of appointing a student to serve as a
member on the Board of Regents. Every year since 1975, a UC student
has served as a member of the Board of Regents.


The UC Regents make all the major decisions about how the UC is run,
including setting the UC budget, student fee levels and what student
services, department and programs exist!


Make sure students have a strong voice on the Board of Regents…YOU! Apply today!

The application can be completed on line; but you must submit a signed
copy of it, along with responses to the essay questions and a resume
to the Chancellor's office on your campus.
