*Call for Papers*

*5th Annual UCR Graduate Student Conference*

*Dialogando con la literatura: Convergencia mediática y su expresión escrita
*

*Saturday, April 16, 2011*

Although the influence of the arts into the realm of literature is not
exclusive to our present time, there are newly developed forms of art, media
and technology that are not only changing the world around us, but are
quickly making their way into literature today. These new forms are
reshaping the way literature is produced and seen in Latin America, the
Caribbean, and the Iberian Peninsula as if they were fashioning a dialogue
among them.

Some of these discourses include, but are not limited to: music’s influence
on written structures, the reshaping of plastic arts into literary
aesthetics, film and other visual media’s embedment into the written
discourse, E-writing and the hypertext novel, mediatic and transmedia
productions, etc.

We encourage panels or papers related to linguistics, literature,
transatlantic studies, historical perspectives, performance studies, film
and media, Chicano/a studies, ethnic and indigenous studies, religious
studies, gender and queer studies. Papers may use an interdisciplinary
approach to the arts, issues of gender, and conceptions of identity.
