*1.  GSA Council Meeting, TODAY June 4th, 2008 @ 6pm
*
Please come join us for the final council meeting of the year.  Today we
will have special elections for the President and Finance Officer Positions.
 We will also be joined by guest from the RCC teacher mentorship-internship
program.  See you there.

*2.  4th Annual GSA Research Conference: Consilience Saturday June 7th, 2008
*
Come support your peers as they present their latest research this Saturday
in the new Commons.   There will be free food and prizes throughout the day
(9am-5pm).  This year's keynote speaker will be Rickerby Hinds; you don't
want to miss the talk and the reception that follows.

*3.  Apply to be the LL or COD*

GSA is now accepting applications for the positions of Legislative Liaison
and Campus Organizing Director. Both of these positions involve working
closely with the board of the University of California Students Association
(UCSA) as well as students and organization from across the state.

The Legislative Liaison (LL) focuses on maintaining relations with various
state representatives that have influence on the UC's budget, and thus the
overall affordability of higher education.

The Campus Organizing Director (COD) focuses on achieving UCSA's goals of
access and affordability here on UCR's campus.

Both positions official start in September and have a $100 stipend a month
for the school year. We are looking to get these positions filled in the
next couple of weeks so that incoming LL and COD can attend the UCSA board
retreat (at UCLA June 19-22) and UCSA congress (at Berkely July 10-13) if
possible.

If interested submit a copy of your resume/vita and a brief paragraph
stating why you are interested in the position and what relevant experience
you have. Applications will be accepted until June 13 and interviews will be
conducted the following week.

*4.  Apply to be the CTGC*

GSA is now accepting applications for Conference Travel Grant Coordinator.
This position oversees that wonderful program that helps us all pay for the
conferences we attend.  This is one of GSA most popular and important
programs.

The position has a stipend of $300 a month (year round) and would begin in
August.

If interested submit a copy of your resume/vita and a brief paragraph
stating why you are interested in the position and what relevant experience
you have. Applications will be accepted until June 13 and interviews will be
conducted the following week.

*5. "Death By Chocolate Social" – June 11th 1-3pm*

The GSA Party Committee will be hosting our last social of the year on
Wednesday, June 11th from 1-3pm in the GSA Office (203 Commons).  Come take
a break from finals week with us and enjoy all things deliciously chocolate.
