Update on fall quarter campus plans
Chancellor Kim A. Wilcox announced that the campus is encouraging students to stay home and remain off campus as part of its efforts to prioritize the safety of the campus community. About 1,400 students are projected to be living in modified residence halls this fall.

Campus asked to confirm numbers for emergency notification
On Sept. 15, students, staff, and faculty members will be asked to confirm their cell phone numbers for the Emergency Notification System, which uses text messaging as one of the ways to alert the campus.

Mariam Lam has been named UCR's first vice chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In her elevated role, she will continue efforts to create a more inclusive institution and work with the campus to create a climate of mutual respect and communal vision.
