<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">This meditation practice is going to involve seated stretching exercises and a body scan. We recognize that everyone has varying physical abilities and mobilities, so please engage in each stretching exercise to
your comfort level. If any portion of the stretching feels too difficult for you, please modify it to your needs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Body scan meditations involve paying attention to parts of the body in a gradual sense from the head to feet. This helps us to bring awareness to every single body part and sensation without judgement - regardless
of pain, tension, or general discomfort. Noticing sensations (like discomfort, pain, tightness, tension, heat, etc.) helps you stay present and also allows you to connect your emotions to physical sensations you're experiencing. This can feel uncomfortable,
awkward, insightful, and/or relaxing. Just try your best to stay in the moment and focus on the process. After a body scan meditation, many people find themselves feeling more relaxed as they were able to relax the parts of the body that had tension even though
the intention of the meditation is to only notice without any judgment toward yourself.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Caution: While most meditations and stretching exercises are safe, some can feel triggering for those who have experienced physical or sexual assault. Please be aware of your experiences if you choose to participate
and know that you can discontinue at any time. If you have any reactions to these exercises, CAPS is available for you. Please reach us during office hours from 8am-5pm at (951) 827-5531, option 2 to speak with a CAPS clinician, come to our office in the Health
