<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue";color:#2F5597">My name is Victor Moreira and I’m one of the senior undergraduate academic advisors over in CHASS Advising for the Multidisciplinary Unit. I also serve as the program
director for a new mentorship program in its second year that’s </span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue";color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-color:#2F5597;mso-style-textfill-fill-alpha:100.0%">being
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue";color:#2F5597">funded by Undergraduate Education for the 2022-2023 academic year – the Blue, Gold, and Black Mentorship Program. I’m reaching out to you all under the capacity of the program
director and not as an academic advisor.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue";color:#2F5597">The mentorship program has a specific focus on the Black student experience but is open to all incoming freshmen and transfer students. Details about the program

exposes the mentees to different mentorship groups and one of those groups is UCR graduate students in pursuit of a master’s degree and/or doctoral degree.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Helvetica Neue";color:#2F5597">The graduate student volunteers would be asked to attend one “meet and greet” event each quarter. The purpose of the quarterly event is for the mentees and graduate
student volunteers to mix and mingle in hopes of achieving the following:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
