STEAM Pod Leader Positions - Summer Employment with Dean Spencer


University of California Riverside (UCR) School of Education invites you to apply to join our STEAM Academy team to mentor middle and high school students and ignite their interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a Pod Leader you will participate in training and will provide inspiration, mentorship, support, supervision, academic guidance and STEM instruction for participants during a summer experience at UCR. The STEAM Academy pod leaders will work closely with program faculty throughout the program.

We are specifically looking for applicants who are committed to educational equity. Applicants with majors in science, mathematics, engineering, education, special education, and ethnic studies are encouraged to apply!

2024 SOE Student Excellence Awards - Nominations Open

As we approach the end of the academic year, it is time to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our graduating SOE students! I am excited to announce that we are looking for nominations for the 2024 SOE Student Excellence Awards.

These awards aim to honor students who exemplify excellence in their academic pursuits and demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing the SOE mission of promoting equitable educational systems and practices. We are looking for graduating students who embody our core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion. Please use the nomination form linked below to nominate a graduating student for the SOE Student Excellence Awards.

  *   ONE Graduate Student Excellence Award for a MA or MEd Student
  *   ONE Graduate Student Excellence Award for a Teacher Credential Candidate
  *   ONE Graduate Student Excellence Award for a PhD Student
  *   ONE Dissertation of the Year Award

We are excited to celebrate the achievements of our students at the SOE Graduation Party, which will take place on Friday, June 14th, at 5 PM in the Alumni and Visitors Center. Award recipients will be announced and honored during this event.
