[Gradstudents] Teaching Assistant Spring 2024 – App due 5 pm on 3/10/2024

Dear SOE Graduate Students:

The SOE is now accepting applications for up to two teaching assistant positions for Spring 2024. We are seeking teaching assistant applications for EDUC 005, 010, and 184.

Applications require a cover letter indicating prior teaching experience, CV/resume and any additional documentation you feel is pertinent to express your teaching expertise (ex: teaching evaluations). Courses in need of a TA:



EDUC 005 – Introduction to Education Studies with Dr. Lorena Gutierrez – one position at 37.5 or 50%

Course Meeting Information:

  *   Lecture: Tuesday and Thursday 9:30-10:50 am and in-person
  *   Discussion sections: Mondays 12-12:50 pm, 1-1:50 pm, and 2-2:50 pm and in-person

  *   Required qualification: Must be available to attend in-person lectures and assigned discussion sections.
  *   Preferred qualification: Familiar with the history of inequity and diversity in K-12 schools (and beyond). Understanding of the history of public schools, the impact of racial segregation, and unequal funding in K-12 schools (and beyond).


EDUC 010 – Principles of Learning Strategies with Dr. Kelsey Rocha – one position at 50%

Course Meeting Information:

  *   Lecture: Online and Asynchronous
  *   Discussion sections: Three discussion sections that are online and asynchronous.

  *   Required qualification: Must be able to meet at minimum weekly with the instructor for at least one hour to prepare for each upcoming week.



EDUC 184 – Social Emotional Learning in Schools with Dr. Stephanie Moore – one position at 37.5 or 50%

Course Meeting Information:

  *   Lecture: Monday and Wednesday 9:30-10:50 am and in-person
  *   Discussion sections: Tuesdays 9-9:50 am, 10-10:50 am, and 11-11:50 am and in-person.
  *   Required qualification: Must be available to attend in-person lectures and assigned discussion sections.
  *   Preferred qualification: Someone who is familiar with social emotional learning concepts and applications.
