Call for Nominations for the Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) for Graduate Students 2024

Please consider nominating an exemplary graduate student teacher for the Distinguished Teaching Award. The nomination deadline is Sunday, April 7th.

Started in 2014, the Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) is a highly competitive award granted by the Graduate Division that recognizes exceptional teaching demonstrated by a graduate student as a Teaching Assistant or Associate-In during Spring 2023, Fall 2023, or Winter 2024. While Outstanding Teaching Assistant (OTA) Awards are determined by the department and have as many as 100 winners across campus, only two Distinguished Teaching Awards are given annually. Awardees are selected by a committee appointed by the Graduate Division based on the strength of nomination letters and the nominee's student teaching evaluations during the award period. DTA recipients are recognized with an award and receive a monetary prize.

The UCR Graduate Division invites nominations from faculty, graduate peers, and undergraduate students wanting to honor a graduate student teacher who demonstrated effective, impactful, or innovative approaches to teaching in the classroom over the past year.
