[Gradstudents] Spring 2024 Schedule & Enrollment

Dear SOE Graduate Students,

Registration for Spring 2024 enrollment will open February 12th. You may find a copy of the department schedule here<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W_R04SbMwN9GkpnkP-uov72S6R15lREP/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=109362674817182585624&rtpof=true&sd=true>. This document will be updated as the schedule changes. If you need a refresher on how to enrolling in courses, you can find a tutorial on how to use R'Web here<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a-DwJFF3h0GBxCbWPMMJ0Ce9CnCLiSDN/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=110325638658216101380&rtpof=true&sd=true>.

As always, please consult your degree audit on R'Web and faculty advisor for guidance on course selection/completion. I am also available to answer questions about enrollment and courses requirements.

Notes:

  *   Check your R'Web for holds and resolve them ASAP to enroll.
  *   The schedule is a list of all 200-level courses the SOE is offering graduate students. Some are reserved for the Teacher Education program, which are highlighted in orange. Special permission is needed to enroll.
  *   Special topics courses (EDUC 269E-Z) titles and descriptions are attached for your reference. Note: EDUC 269N will count as an elective for MED Higher Ed students.

PhD students:

  *   Don't have 12 units, but know of a topic you want to study in more depth? Enroll in EDUC 290 with a SOE faculty member. Use the online form found on R'Grad via R'Web for directed study and attach a copy of the faculty approved syllabus.
  *   Working on a research project with a PI and want academic credit? Use the form found here<https://education.ucr.edu/sites/g/files/rcwecm1216/files/2018-08/educ_297_enrollment_form.pdf> to start the enrollment process for EDUC 297.

  *   Need to complete your EDUC 302 requirement? Use form found here<https://education.ucr.edu/sites/g/files/rcwecm1216/files/2018-08/educ_302_enrollment_form.pdf> to start the enrollment process. EDUC 302 must be paired with an undergraduate course (EDUC 001-189)
  *   Done with your mandatory coursework and studying for your written or oral qualifying exam? Enroll in EDUC 291 for 12 units with your faculty advisor.
  *   Passed your oral qualifying exam? Enroll in EDUC 299 for 12 units with your faculty advisor.
  *   See attached tutorial on how to increase the units for EDUC 291 and EDUC 299 from 1 to 12.
  *   Ready for your final defense? Do not add any units and apply for filing fee ($201 for one term only). Fill out the form on R'Grad via R'Web by March 1st.

MA students:

  *   Done with your mandatory coursework and working on your thesis? Enroll in EDUC 299 for 12 units with your faculty advisor.
  *   Finished your coursework and studying for your exam? Apply for filing fee and only pay $201 for the term while you study (one term only). Fill out the form on R'Grad via R'Web by March 1st.

MED students:

  *   Finished your coursework and working on your capstone paper/project? Apply for filing fee and only pay $201 for the term while you write (one term only). Fill out the form on R'Grad via R'Web by March 1st.
