Commencement Student Speaker: With commencement quickly approaching, the School of Education is looking for a student speaker for the 2024<https://forms.gle/Tw2xXAfci6kbJ5BA9> Commencement Ceremony on Monday, June 17. We are looking for a student who is dedicated to our mission: to advance equitable educational systems and practices, driven by our core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion.

To be considered, the applicant must:

  *   Be a degree candidate approved to walk at the 2024 Commencement
  *   Demonstrate exceptional public speaking ability
  *   Demonstrate a high level of involvement in the campus and the community at large

All applications received before 5 PM on Monday, April 8, 2024 will be considered.  Once we review applications, we will ask all chosen candidates to write a 3-minute speech. When writing your speech, you should be able to mention pertinent issues in the field of education while thinking about your work in the larger context of society. The final commencement speaker will work with SOE staff to finalize their speech.

Chosen candidates will be asked to audition in person on Wednesday, April 17.
