[Gradstudents] Employment opportunity - Reader for summer session B

Dear Graduate Students:

The SOE is now accepting applications for one reader position for Summer Session B.

Application requires a cover letter indicating prior teaching/reader experience, CV/resume and any additional documentation you feel is pertinent to express your teaching/reader expertise (ex: teaching evaluations). The application deadline for this position is 5 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are to grade assignments and exams as directed by the course instructor. Attendance in the course itself is not required. The hourly pay rate for graduate students is $19.28.

This opportunity is available to interested M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. students who:

*         Are making adequate progress toward completion of their degree

*         Have a cumulative grade average of 3.0 or above

*         Have received at least a "B" in a course similar to the course in question and/or

*         Have other academic or professional expertise in the subject matter

An examination of reading, writing, academic language, and English language development strategies for teaching at the middle and high school levels. Covers all areas of the curriculum. Includes observation and participation in public schools..
Experience with using elearn/Canvas to provide feedback on assignments and enter grades.
Approximately 14-16 hours per week or 41% appointment; Start date and final appointment percentage is subject to when the appointment is confirmed and course enrollment numbers.
