Dear GSOE Graduate Students:
The GSOE is now accepting applications for one Associate-Instructor position for Fall 2021 for EDUC 184 - Social Emotional Learning in the Schools.
Application requires a cover letter indicating prior teaching experience, CV/resume, the UC bio form (attached here), and any additional documentation you feel is pertinent to express your teaching expertise (ex: teaching evaluations). What is an associate instructor? An associate instructor, also known as associate-in, is a registered graduate student who should be competent to work independently and without supervision to conduct the entire instruction of a lower division undergraduate course. The minimal qualifications for appointment to the title associate-in shall be possession of a master's degree or equivalent training and at least one year of teaching experience. Assignment to conduct instruction in an upper division or graduate level course may not be made except with the approval of the Committee on Courses

Social Emotional Learning in the Schools
The course is online and asynchronous.  The instructor will need to be able to post content.
An overview of fostering social emotional competence in PK-12 settings. Topics include cultural adaptations, generalization and maintenance, and trauma in the schools.
Twenty (20) hours per week; This course will be a 50% lead instructor position for a course with the support of at least one teaching assistant.
Knowledge of course content area.
