Dear GSOE Graduate Students:
The GSOE is now accepting applications for one reader position for Summer 2021 for Session B.
Applications require a cover letter indicating prior teaching experience, CV/resume and any additional documentation you feel is pertinent to express your teaching expertise (ex: teaching evaluations). The application deadline for this position is 5 pm on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
The duties and responsibilities of this position are to grade assignments and exams as directed by the course instructor. Attendance in the course itself is not required. The hourly pay rate for graduate students is $17.26.

This opportunity is available to interested M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. students who:


*        Are making adequate progress toward completion of their degree

*        Have a cumulative grade average of 3.0 or above

*        Have received at least a "B" in a course similar to the course in question and/or

*        Have other academic or professional expertise in the subject matter

Reading and Language Development
Dr. Miguel Lopez
An introduction to reading and language development. Addresses theoretical models of reading; linguistics and language development; methods and materials; children's and adolescents' literature; reading in the content areas; individual differences; and measurement and evaluation in reading. Includes observation and participation in assigned schools.

Experience working with English Language Learners in a school setting.
Approximately 7 hours per week or 17.5% appointment; Start Date and final appointment percentage is subject to when the appointment is confirmed with the Summer Session office and course enrollment numbers.

Graduate students are NOT eligible for this position if they currently have appointments as a GSR, TA, Reader or staff anywhere on a UC campus that totals 100% for Summer Session B 2021.
