READER POSITION: M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. students are invited to apply:

The duties and responsibilities of this position are to grade assignments and exams as directed by the course instructor. Attendance in the course itself is not required. Generally, Readers work an average of 35-45 hours per term. The hourly pay rate for graduate students is $17.26.

This opportunity is available to interested M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. students who:


*        Are making adequate progress toward completion of their degree

*        Have a cumulative grade average of 3.0 or above

*        Have received at least a "B" in a course similar to the course in question and/or

*        Have other academic or professional expertise in the subject matter

Principles of Healthful Living
Cathleen Geraghty
Introduction to personal, family, and community health. Discusses the attitudes and behaviors associated with healthful living and the use of health-related scientific information. Explores the effects of alcohol, dangerous drugs, narcotics, degenerative and infectious diseases, and tobacco on the human body and the community resources available to assist in their treatment.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of course content, some experience working in schools or with children, and the ability to enter information into the ilearn (blackboard) grade book.

Graduate students are NOT eligible for these positions if they currently have appointments as a GSR, TA, Reader or staff anywhere on a UC campus that totals 75% for Winter 2021 unless otherwise approved (Note: typically, the limit is 50%, but due to COVID restrictions, students may work up to 75%)
