We had several announcements for upcoming events, including the Esri Fall
Education Open House

on October 7, and the call for submissions for UC GIS Week

which
remains open until October 16. Be sure to check out all the announcements

At the meetup I presented on geospatial resources at UCR. Please view the

used in the presentation, as they contain many links that would typically
be found in the notes. I am also attaching a copy of the slides in case you

Notable topics included:

   - the transition of how and which services the library will provide in
   the short term,
   - a new tool that guides beginner mappers through the process of
   creating a map
   - the ability of UC employees to join the State of California GIS
   Community of Practice

Within a week or so, we hope to have the recording of just the geospatial
resources presentation available on the Library's YouTube channel.

Our next meetup, on October 14, will feature a presenter with a solution
for providing geospatial computing using modern hardware.
