Hello everyone,Our next Geospatial/GIS meetup will be on Wednesday,  
November 12 from 12:00-12:50 pm.The meetup will take place on Zoom, and  
will be recorded.Gary Qin, a graduate student in Evolution, Ecology, and  
Organismal Biology at UCR, will present on Using QGIS in freshwater health  
assessment of the Santa Ana River WatershedThe Santa Ana River Watershed is  
one of the largest and most urbanized watersheds in Southern California.  
The challenges the watershed faces in maintaining proper ecosystem  
functioning and supplying crucial ecosystem services to its inhabitants  
require assessments and solutions that consider ecological, hydrological,  
and social measures of freshwater health. A study was conducted to  
establish a baseline assessment of freshwater health in the watershed,  
which can be used in follow-up assessments and scenario analysis. This talk  
will outline how QGIS and geospatial analyses were utilized in the  
assessment to provide context, visualize spatial variation, and explore  
potential solutions for sustaining freshwater health in the  
watershed.  Gary Qin is a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in Evolution, Ecology,  
and Organismal Biology at UC Riverside. Before beginning his graduate  
studies, he received a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology  
and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of  
Washington. He is currently advised by Dr. Helen Regan and Dr. Kurt  
Anderson, and his dissertation focuses on freshwater biodiversity and  
ecosystem service delivery in California. The meetup will start with
