[Geospatial] Goodbye Apporto, hello itopia - this week!

Hello everyone,

For the last several years many of us at UCR have been using Apporto, a virtual lab that provides access to ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.

ITS has asked me to give a signal boost to the announcement that itopia will be replacing Apporto as UCR's VLab, effective Friday, March 29. Read this for more information: https://its.ucr.edu/blog/2024/03/11/introducing-uc-riversides-new-virtual-computer-lab-vlab-service

A couple of very important things to note:

  *   The files stored in Apporto will NOT be retained.  If there is anything you need to move or copy to another storage location, please do so before end of day this Thursday, March 28th.
     *   The ITS Campus Support Services Team is happy to help by providing information on how to transfer files to your Google drive if needed.   https://its.ucr.edu/support#gethelp
  *   Office Hour sessions that include a demo of itopia and Q&A are being offered. The next one is today at 3:00.

The first set of Office Hours is structured to ensure the user community is comfortable with accessing the new platform. Questions related to Spring Quarter use cases will also be addressed.
