Reminder: Planned Steam Shutdown for July 27th – August 1, 2021

Please be advised a planned steam shutdown will impact various buildings from July 27 – August 1, 2021. Please read below for exact details.

PURPOSE:
Facilities Services will be conducting maintenance and repairs of UCR’s steam utility distribution system. The purpose of this shutdown is to ensure the continued reliable delivery of steam and hot water for sterilization and other laboratory processes in many campus buildings through this critical utility.

Plans to perform maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27 – Sunday, August 1, 2021.

Please review the details of the proposed interruption below:

The following buildings will be without hot water, steam, and unable to use autoclaves for the duration of the shutdown.

Boyce Hall
School of Medicine Education Building
Chemical Sciences Building
Science Laboratory 1
Geology Building
Webber Hall
Orbach Science Library
Winston Chung Hall
Physics Building



Facilities Services’ staff will be onsite to ensure all steam repairs have been completed.
