[Facilities Services Notifications] 8/28/20 – Loss of Power Notice

[Facilities]

Dear Campus Community,

On Friday, August 28, 2020 at 3:25 p.m. our campus experienced a power loss related to a transformer that malfunctioned. This has impacted 5 buildings on campus:

  *   UCPD Building
  *   Housing Administration
  *   Oban Family Housing
  *   Falkirk Campus Apartments
  *   Early Childhood Services

Since that time the campus has not experienced any additional power losses. Facilities Services teams and Riverside Public Utilities teams are on-campus troubleshooting the cause and we will keep the community informed. Riverside Public Utilities anticipates repairs will take between 1 – 6 hours.

Facilities Services will continue to update impacted locations with the estimated timeline of full recovery of all services for impacted buildings.  If you are experiencing any issues related to the loss of power, please call Facilities Services at (951) 827-4214 or the Central Plant (for after-hours emergencies) at (951) 827-2677 immediately.
