The Specialist will provide leadership and have overall responsibility for a statewide multifaceted Extension Pesticide Safety and Pest Management program consistent with performance expectations of area educators and in alignment with UI Extension and UI
Strategic Plans. The Specialist will provide leadership and have overall responsibility for the statewide multifaceted IR-4 Specialty Crop program for Idaho. The Specialist will work collaboratively with the statewide Integrated Pest Management program and
will facilitate the transfer of technology, research, and knowledge from the university to residents throughout the state of Idaho. Professional service is expected, including but not limited to professional associations, reviews of Extension publications,
journal manuscripts, grant proposals, and external promotion packets. This position will be 25% Scholarship & Creative Activity, 70% Outreach and Extension, and 5% University Service and Leadership. </div>

<div style="margin-top:1em;margin-bottom:1em">The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is seeking to hire a Tenured Associate or Full Professor to serve as the Saad Hafez Presidential Endowed Chair for the Department of Entomology,
Plant Pathology and Nematology. The purpose of a Presidential Endowed Chair is to recruit and retain faculty with outstanding scholarly records who will provide scholarship and leadership that enhances their department, their college and the university (65%).
This is a distinguished faculty position that represents accomplishment, prestige, leadership and good citizenship on campus and in the profession. The faculty selected must continue to perform as exemplary academicians and excellent colleagues. The position
will participate in college and university service and leadership (5%). In addition, the Presidential Endowed Chair will provide important outreach (30%) to regional and national stakeholders, including but not limited to agribusiness, commodity groups, producers
and policy makers on issues related to nematology in Idaho. Endowment distributions may be used at the discretion of the dean in accordance with current College of Agricultural and Life Sciences policies and procedures for endowed chair positions. Endowed
funds will be used to support the presidential endowed chair position and research may include, but is not limited to supporting faculty, students, staff, travel, equipment, and salary enhancements. The chairship will be reviewed for renewal by the dean every

<div style="margin-top:1em;margin-bottom:1em">This tenure track assistant or tenure track or tenured associate professor will focus on Forest Health in support of undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Forest, Rangeland
and Fire Sciences, and College of Natural Resources. Rank and tenure are negotiable based on how the candidate meets the criteria outlined in the college bylaws. The faculty member will teach two undergraduate courses and lead a graduate course in their field
of expertise (total of approximately nine credit hours per academic year). Course content will support both program and university student learning outcomes. Specific courses will be focused on forest health and determined in consultation with the department
head. The faculty member will actively and effectively advise undergraduate students and will actively recruit and effectively mentor graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. The faculty member will conduct research related to forest health, and will
develop a strong, internationally recognized, externally funded research program focused on biotic threats to forest health. This includes, but is not limited to, impacts of environmental factors on host-pest/pathogen relationships, threats posed by natural
and introduced agents to forests and species of conservation concern, and innovative approaches to monitoring and managing forest health. The faculty member will publish in peer-reviewed journals, present findings to scientists and managers at professional
conferences, and actively seek external competitive funding to support this research. The faculty member will work collaboratively within the department, college and university, as well as with external stakeholders (e.g., government and nongovernmental organizations,
other universities, and industries). In these and other ways, the faculty member will develop and maintain a nationally and internationally recognized research and outreach program. The faculty member will also be effective in both outreach and engagement,
particularly in linking research activities with outreach activities that help contribute to the land grant mission of the university. Thus, the faculty member participates in site visits, presentations to public and professional audiences, short courses and
workshops, web-based communication, grant and manuscript reviews, and written impact statements that translate research findings to a large and diverse audience.</div>
