Hello Bill,



We want to provide advance notice to you, as the building's point of
contact listed in FMS, regarding an upcoming ITS initiative that will take
place in your buildings.


As you may be aware, in early January 2026, UCR Information Technology
Solutions (ITS) began a multi-month Campus WiFi Assessment Initiative.
The *Entomology
Building & Chapman Hall *will be visited during this discovery phase, and
are currently scheduled for a walkthrough between *February 2-4.*


*What to Expect*
To ensure we have the most accurate data on network performance, you will
see ITS team members walking through hallways, common areas, and specific
rooms to map signal strength. Please read this blog article to learn more

*No Action Required*
No specific action is required from you at this moment. We simply want to
ensure that you and your occupants are aware of our presence to avoid any
concern when ITS staff are seen walking through the building. *Please share
these details with the building occupants as you see fit.* Note our staff
will be wearing ITS lanyards for identification.


Additionally, all UCR faculty have also directly received information
regarding this effort, and have been provided this form
