[Entm-researchstaff] Advancing Opportunities in Entomology Scholarship Call

Dear colleagues,

The Advancing Opportunities in Entomology Scholarship is accepting
applications now through *May 11, 2026*. This year, thanks to the craft
fair, swap meet, and plant sale efforts coordinated by several members of
our department, we expect to give out *4 awards of $2,000 each*. The
scholarship is open to any undergraduate students at UCR and at nearby
institutions, such as community colleges. We strongly advise students to
reach out to prospective faculty mentors
<https://entomology.ucr.edu/directory/current-faculty> to identify a host
for the research experience before applying, although this is not required.
Applicants will need to secure one letter of recommendation from someone
who is familiar with their experience in an academic, volunteer, or
workplace setting. The letter writer will be sent a submission link to
upload their letter automatically once the applicant submits their
materials. *The letter of recommendation is due on May 15*.

Applicants will be reviewed by members of the Community Building Committee
that do not have conflicts of interest with any applicants. We expect to
inform applicants of the outcomes by May 30.
