Hi UCR IPM Committee & Partners,

As you are aware, the UC IPM Policy <https://policy.ucop.edu/doc/3511292>
is in its implementation phase. As part of the policy, specific UC training
is required for individuals who *use, apply or enter spaces *where
pesticides are used by the deadline of *September 2025*. The Risk & Safety
Team is hosting workshops at each location, the first workshop at *UC
Riverside next week on March 19th & 20th*. This is an excellent opportunity
for you and your team members to get training on Pesticide Safety, the UC
IPM Policy, the new PUA Software and UCR specific support services.

I know we've been sharing this information at IPM Committee meetings, and
we ask that your please register for the workshop! We are closing
registration to get a headcount for catering tomorrow 3/12 by end of
business, if you need more time, please let us know!

Thank you for your support in being the first campus to adhere to the IPM
Policy training requirements! Attached is the flyer and below is a copy of
the initial training announcement distributed to the committee last month.

Risk and Safety Training, in collaboration with Subject Matter experts
systemwide, is pleased to announce the launch of the Pesticide Employee
Safety Training (PEST) Workshop series.

This DPR-certified workshop will take place beginning March 2025 targeting
all UC locations. The series provides essential training on pesticide
safety, regulations, spill response, PPE, and proper handling procedures to
ensure compliance and workplace safety.
Who Should Attend?

      UC staff pesticide handlers/applicators

   Suggested to attend:

      Supervisors of pesticide handlers/applicators and IPM Committee
      members

      EH&S personnel
