Good morning!
I hope you are doing well.
We are currently seeking a *Research Associate II*, who will be hired
through UTRGV to conduct research at the *USDA Insect Management and
Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (IMMDL)* in Edinburg, TX. The ideal
candidate should have the following preferred experience: Insect rearing
and breeding, CRISPR technology, and transposable element-based
transgenesis. The ideal candidate should be proficient in insect embryo
microinjection (Femtojet-based) and adult injection (Nanoject-based), as
well as phenotype-to-genotype characterization for gene-engineered strains.
Additional expertise in tissue dissection, molecular biology techniques
(including conventional subcloning of plasmid DNA constructs, bacterial
culture, PCR, RT-PCR, Q-PCR, sequencing analysis, DNA/RNA purification, and
Western blotting), and high-resolution melting curve analysis is preferred.
Experience with frontier DNA recombination technology such as Golden Gate
Assembly and Gibson Assembly, along with proficiency in fluorescent
microscopy, would also be highly beneficial.
If you know anyone who may be interested or could refer a suitable
candidate, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share this
opportunity with them: https://careers.utrgv.edu/postings/45974.
Closing date is 02/28/2025.
Thank you for your time and assistance. Please let me know if you have any
questions.
Best regards,
Dan
