[Entm-researchstaff] Entomology Swap Outcome!

Dear colleagues and friends,

I wanted to thank all those who participated in the first Entomology Swap last week.  The event was a huge success, thanks to many generous donations of clothes and household items from members of our community.  The large conference room was PACKED (both with items and with attendees!!), and many people (I lost count!!) found treasures to take home. Several of our new students were particularly thrilled to offset the cost of equipping and furnishing their homes by picking up donated items.  I then donated all remaining items to the Mary S. Roberts Thrift Store and to Savers (Mary Roberts was limiting donations on Saturday), so even items that did not find a new person on Friday will benefit worthy causes in Riverside.  I believe that we also (separately!) raised awareness about the Entomology Inclusivity Scholarship, which is great.
