Exciting Opportunity for Entomologists at UW–Madison.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison has launched a large, interdisciplinary
faculty hiring initiative called the Wisconsin Research, Innovation and
Scholarly Excellence <https://rise.wisc.edu/> (RISE). Focusing on the first
two focus areas RISE-AI and RISE-EARTH, the College of Agricultural and
Life Sciences (CALS) has developed four thematic areas
<https://cals.wisc.edu/rise-faculty-hiring-initiative/> which will serve as
the cornerstone of cluster hires within each area and plans to hire a total
of 13 faculty across multiple disciplines in the next year. These
recruitments are open rank and the position vacancy listings for each of
these four initiatives are provided at the CALS RISE Faculty Hiring
<https://cals.wisc.edu/rise-faculty-hiring-initiative/> site.

The CALS themes, intended to be broad and interdisciplinary, are: AI to
advance life sciences; AI to enhance agricultural and natural systems;
furthering the bioeconomy; and mitigating climate impacts on agroecosystems
and communities.

Entomologists around the US have great expertise in the areas, and we want
to encourage scholars to apply for one (or more) of the positions in the
areas of artificial intelligence to advance life sciences, natural and
managed agroecosystems, as well the mitigation of climate impacts on
managed agroecosystems and natural communities. Links to each position
vacancy are provided here
<https://cals.wisc.edu/rise-faculty-hiring-initiative/> with more
information and details on how to apply.

Appreciated in advance,

Russ Groves
