All,

There was a recent update to Oracle which will go into effect tomorrow, Tuesday, January 9th. Unfortunately, this new update will prevent us from using Oracle for any Procard purchasing. Nina created a new ordering page for Entomology that we need everyone to start using immediately. Please note, punch out orders can still be placed via Oracle. All non-punch out orders and any PCard request should use this new ordering page.

On the Entomology Website we now have a new tab with a link the PO Request Form (https://entomology.ucr.edu/procurement-0). This can be found on the main page. Select Resources and then choose Procurement. Any orders that are not part of the punch out should be requested from this page as well. We hope you find this to be more user friendly and less time-consuming. Behind the scenes, Gian and I will be placing your vendor orders into Oracle directly. Please note - Requestors will only use Oracle for the Punchout suppliers. The punch out is the side of Oracle where we can order directly from Fisher, VWR, Sigma, Bio-Rad, CDWG, Digi-Key, Eppendorf, Fastenal, Grainger, NEB, Qiagen, Neta, and Thermo Fisher Life-Tech just to name a few.

We understand this is last minute, but we were not informed of the update until late last week. I am just glad we had the forethought to have an ordering page in our back pocket if we needed it. Since this is last minute and we have not really tested it, please let me know if you run into any issues and we will make the necessary changes.

To recap:
New Entm Order System - Procard orders and any current supplier that are not part of the Punch out
Oracle - Only orders using the punch out program.
