Friendly reminder that today is Krista Zavala’s first day with the department.  When time permits, please stop in and say Hi. 😊

While we are recruiting for the Travel/Chair’s Asst position, Gian has graciously accepted to serve as the interim travel coordinator.  Please be mindful this is a new role for Gian and there is much to learn about Concur and UC travel policies.   If you have travel related questions, please email them to Gian and with a copy to me and Bill.  We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Subject: [Entmfaculty] Quick Business Office Update

Quick update - a few personnel updates to the business office that will happen upon our return in January 2024. After almost 5 years Ash has decided to move on to another position in UCR. She has been a great asset to the department and will be missed. We have started recruitment and hope to have the position filled by the end of January, early February.

In happier news, Krista Zavala will start on Tuesday Jan 2 as the Front desk person to replace Gian when he moved up into a Financial Analyst role. Krista comes to use after several years working in Loma Linda children’s hospital as an admin. She has experience with policy related to travel, purchasing and general duties. It should be a fast-learning curve coming over to UCR. She is married with one child and another on the way! Please stop in and say hello. Krista will be taking care of all your receiving needs as well as non-travel reimbursement.
