Dear Chemical Inventory Owners and Managers,



On March 5, 2024, the EH&S Chemical Inventory team will be walking through
Entomology Building and gathering information on the number of containers
in your largest chemical storage location. This is not a safety inspection,
nor is it directed to your own protocols or procedures. Our visit is part
of a larger campus wide chemical inventory project to maintain the campus
chemical inventory <https://ehs.ucop.edu/chemicals/>. The project is
focused on updating the chemical inventory system data that aids in the
hazard assessment and regulatory reporting processes.



This visual review will not require EH&S to disturb experiments or move any
equipment and should only take a few minutes to complete for each lab
space. Normal lab activities may continue during our visit, but should you
feel that someone needs to be present, or there are spaces that have
sensitive research that we should be made aware of prior to entry, please
let us know prior to our visit date.
