Part-time Teaching possibility: Introduction to Ecology
We are searching for candidates immediately available to teach an
introductory ecology class directed at undergraduates in an environmental
studies program. The class is composed of a classroom section and a
laboratory / fieldwork section dedicated to field trips to biological
communities of Southern California, laboratory exercises, and other
hands-on activities.
A Masters Degree in an environmental field is the minimum credential for
this position. Compensation is $9180.
The class is scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays 8 am to 9:15am for classroom
instruction and Monday 1:15 to 3:55pm for laboratory and fieldwork. An
additional laboratory/fieldwork section may also be available on Wednesdays
at 1:15 to 3:55, with additional compensation.
The position would start Wednesday September 4 or as soon as possible and
continue to approximately December 14.
The University of Redlands is an independent, private university with
strong roots in liberal arts education. As a Hispanic Serving Institution,
with 40% of our student body composed of first-generation students, we
believe that bringing together faculty, students, and staff from diverse
cultural and/or socio-economic backgrounds creates a richer learning
environment. The Department of Environmental Studies offers majors in
Environmental Studies and Environmental Science, as well as serving the
general education program of the College of Arts and Sciences. Experiential
learning, collaborative learning, and faculty-student interaction are
highly valued in this close-knit academic community. See www.redlands.edu for
more information.
