[Entm-researchstaff] Minor Thefts

All,
We have again experienced a rash of minor thefts in the building. For the
most part it has been food from refrigerators in shared spaces.  In a few
cases it has included personal/meaningful/valuable containers that the food
was stored in.  Wendi has contacted UCRPD, and they have indicated they
will increase nightly patrols through the building.  I do want to remind
everybody to be sure the outside doors lock and latch during the evenings,
weekends, and holidays.  Furthermore if you are working after hours and see
someone with whom you are unfamiliar, call the police.  Some of you will
remember the last time this type of thing happened; we had somebody posing
as a student coming into the building at 4:45 p.m. every day and then
camping out, cleaning out refrigerators, and ultimately breaking into
offices and labs and stealing computers.  As TSA says, "If you see
something, say something."
