The *Insect Pathology Short Course* will be held on the campus of Cornell
University, Ithaca, NY, June 4-9, 2023. We will begin with a mixer on
Sunday evening, June 4 to introduce instructors and participants. The
course will summarize the infectious diseases of insects including
bacteria, fungi, nematodes, protists, and viruses. The morphological,
biological and pathological features of these pathogen will be discussed as
well as their use and potential for use in biological control/IPM programs
and mitigation in beneficial insects. The course is intended for students
at the graduate level and researchers at any level who are interested in
learning about insect pathogens.

Each pathogen group will be covered in a lecture format using handouts and
PowerPoint presentations. Participants will learn diagnostic techniques for
each pathogen group in hands-on laboratory sessions using live material
(hosts and pathogens), and archived material (slides). We will also cover
microbial control, epizootiology, and diseases of beneficial insects.

For maximum benefit to participants, course enrollment is limited to 25.
The registration fee is $500 for university students and $600 for
non-students, including post-doctoral researchers.  Accommodations will be
available on campus at a daily rate of approx. $68 per person single, $50
per person double. Other room options (hotel names and addresses) will be
provided.
