[Entm-researchstaff] URGENT Heads up re APHIS PPQ permits

Dear Colleagues,

For any of you who have APHIS-PPQ permits for shipping live insects, I just
discovered the hard way that:

1. With APHIS’ transition to the new Efile system for applying for
permits, they no longer send you a heads up that an existing permit issued
through the old Epermits system is going to expire in a few months.

2. As far as I can tell, in the new Efile system, none of your previous
or existing permits issued under the old Epermits system are accessible, so
applying for a renewal is apparently not possible, i.e., you have to apply
as though it were a new permit.

Thus, if you have permits, please check their expiration dates, to make
sure that you are not going to fall off a cliff, as we just did.
