Hello LSOs!

I have a last minute request and training opportunity for your labs. There
are a few spots still available for tomorrows session *Wilderness First Aid
– CPR/AED – EpiPen Training* by Sierra Rescue, can you share this info out
to your labs that do field research? The training is only offered on
campus once or twice a year in limited class sizes, so is a great
opportunity to get this training for new or renewing members.

This training is especially beneficial to any groups conducting field
research and provides detailed knowledge and practises of the types of
injuries that often occur in the field with the limited availability of
medical resources in such events.

The CPR-AED training provides participants with an official certification
that will remain valid for two years.

The EpiPen training fulfills the requirements for Lay Rescuer training to
administer EpiPens for first aid purposes according to California Section
1797.197a and will remain valid for two years.

The training is one 8-hour course this Friday at the EH&S office. The cost
of the training is $125 per person. Meals will not be provided so
participants will need to make arrangements for their own lunch.

Below are the registration links for the Friday class. If you have any
questions, please contact Pamela See at pamela.see at ucr.edu
