Subject: post-doc position
To: Rick Redak <richard.redak at ucr.edu>

Hi Rick:

I am in the process of drafting a position description for a post-doc in my
biotremology lab and wondered whether you know someone interested in
applying for this position. They can contact me directly for more details.
Please see contact info below. Briefly, the person will be responsible for
elucidating fundamental aspects of vibrational communication in arthropods,
using innovative methodologies required to determine structure/function of
vibrational signals, developing procedures suitable for interference with
arthropod communication, and applying knowledge gained from such studies
towards development of novel management strategies for pests of important
crops and surrounding landscapes. Specifically, the objectives are to 1)
identify and describe vibrational signals used in intraspecific
communication of arthropods; 2) collect and analyze communication signals
using laser Doppler vibrometers and associated software; and 3) assist with
laboratory and field studies to improve transmission of disruptive
vibrational signals to crops and surrounding vegetation.

Thank you,

Rodrigo
